ANYONE who has visited our Creative Art Department at King’s Ely Senior will know what an awe-inspiring environment it is.

Yes, outstanding results are achieved and national competitions are won, but the Department, led by Alison Rhodes and her team, is so much more than that. It is a community, a mecca, a hub where students are nurtured and feel comfortable for their creativity and flair to really shine.

After school on March 18th, our Fine Art, Photography, Sculpture and Fashion and Textile Design students welcomed their families along to the Department to show them the amazing pieces that they and their peers have been working on.

It is the first time that we have been able to hold our ‘Spring Art Exhibition’ for more than two years due to the pandemic, and the atmosphere at the private view event as families admired the displays and spoke to students and staff about individual pieces was palpable.

The exhibition is a celebration of work produced by students in Years 9-13, and pieces on display includes portfolios for high profile universities, such as Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion and The University of Edinburgh, to name just a few.

The exhibition is open to members of our school community until the end of term (March 30th).
