ISN’T the wildflower garden down on Allotment Field near the assault course looking brilliant!

Some of you may remember that the wildflower area was created by our Grounds and Gardens Team last year and that it attracted a huge amount of attention from admirers on Spotted in Ely.

The team have extended the nature spot this year and it is now approximately 100-metres long with more than 20 different species of wildflowers, all of which have been sown by hand. Not only is the area looking amazing, but there is also a huge amount of bees, butterflies and birds reaping the benefits of the flowers, which is fantastic.

It’s not just the Grounds and Gardens Team who have been involved in this project – students and staff planted seeds in the spring as part of our British Science Week celebrations, and children at King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep also joined in on the fun as part of their Friday Enrichment Group sessions!
