“I would like to end the Summer term by reflecting on a year at school where hard work, perseverance, talent and ambition have all played their part in securing success for the children. No two will have experienced the same highs or lows this year and no two will have identified quite the same next steps to take in September either. We value the uniqueness of each child’s journey equally.

“Chatting with the children, watching them at work and play, seeing their work or just hearing their excited hubbub in the school buildings, I am left with a very strong impression of just how eager and committed they are to their days at school. Whatever the level of their work, the enthusiasm they have shown since September and the effort they have applied has, with very few exceptions, been admirable. This level of engagement is of course fuelled by you at home and by their teachers too.

“Thank you for all you do in support of the children’s learning and their engagement with school generally. The holiday will provide a restorative rest for them after all their endeavours this year. The team here at King’s Ely Junior join me in wishing you all the happiest and healthiest of times over the summer and look forward to welcoming many of the children back to school on Monday 2nd September (Day students) or on Sunday 1st September (Boarders).

“To those moving on, we will miss you and your children and hope that you will share their news with us over the coming years – they will be very much in our thoughts come the start of the new school year.”
