KING’S Ely Fashion and Textile Design students are excited to be exhibiting their work at The Stitch Festival, which opened at the Business Design Centre in London today (March 3rd).

Not only are our GCSE and A Level designers showcasing their garments to thousands of people attending the event between now and Sunday, but eight of our students have been shortlisted in the Stitch Festival Dressmaking Competition!

Congratulations to: Kitty Carr-Lake, John-Oswald Crichton, Maria Jago De La Cuerda, Emilia Decker, Disa Hellyer, Elanda Cundy, Chloe Skoulding, and Meghana Gurung.

Each of these students has written a paragraph of information about the garment they have produced, including the use of both creative and technical processes, and they have provided photographs documenting their pieces.

All of the students’ shortlisted garments are on display at King’s Ely’s stands – GB1A and GB1B – alongside lots of other striking pieces made by our pupils. The shortlisted pieces will then be worn on the catwalk at the event’s fashion show on the Sunday afternoon, after which the winners will be announced.

The festival is open from 9.30am-5.30pm on Friday and Saturday, and then 9.30am-3pm on Sunday. For tickets or more information, go to: www.thestitchfestival.co.uk

Congratulations to everyone whose designs feature in the exhibition!
