Congratulations to King’s Ely Sixth Form student, Daniel Kember, who completed the Great Eastern Run on October 16th.

Daniel, who is in Year 13, decided to take on the 13.1-mile challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Little Miracles Charity – a Cambridgeshire-based charity which supports families whose children have additional needs, disabilities or life limiting conditions.

Daniel, who battled cancer when he was younger and spent a great deal of time in the children’s cancer ward at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 38 minutes and 47 seconds. He has raised more than £1,000 in sponsorship so far!

Daniel, who has been at King’s since joining King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep in Year 1, said: “The run was one of the hardest things I have ever done! It was not only physically exhausting, but mentally draining too, although everyone’s support really got me through it. I am so grateful for everyone’s generosity.”
