CONGRATULATIONS to Chanré Bond, Head of Girls’ Games at King’s Ely Senior, who represented England Hockey at the International Masters last weekend.

Chanré was selected to make up the 16-strong squad of ‘over 45’ players following several trial sessions before the pandemic.

The International Masters took place at Nottingham Hockey Centre and Chanré and her teammates competed against Wales, Scotland and an over 40 regional team from England, winning all three of their matches.

Chanré said: “My original selection was to compete at a Home Nations event in Glasgow and the World Cup in South Africa last year, but due to Covid all these events were unfortunately cancelled. This tournament was put on so that players could get some international matches in this year. It was a brilliant experience!”
