CONGRATULATIONS to King’s Ely Senior student, Ben Rae, who has been presented with his Centurion Tie!

Ben, who is in Year 11, scored 100 (a century) against Culford School in the Summer Term, and was presented with his tie by Alex Meddle, our Head of Cricket, on October 5th.

Ben, who is from the Saffron Walden area and who joined King’s Ely Junior in Year 7, captained our Under 15A team last year, and made his debut for our 1st XI side at the end of term.

Outside of school, Ben plays for Saffron Walden Cricket Club and the Cambridgeshire Under 17s.

Mr Meddle said: “Ben has excelled for the Under 15s this year, which culminated in a fantastic century against Culford School. His batting has really improved over the last few years and he has been much more consistent with his batting performances. Ben has been an excellent leader for the Under 15s and we look forward to seeing him develop for the 1st XI side this year.”
