“WE chose King’s Ely because of the quality of the Music-making as a Cathedral School, the great Sport facilities and the focus on the ‘whole person’, with outdoor education actually built into the curriculum day. However, I don’t think at that time we realised the true extent of the opportunities that our children would have!

“Our boys have flourished in their Sports – not only learning the skills but also benefitting from the incredible camaraderie, sportsmanship, teamwork and leadership that the coaching team engender. They’ve got involved in choirs, orchestras, bands, tours – and our eldest now gets to sing Evensong at Ely Cathedral each week alongside professional lay clerks.

“Ely Scheme is a really unique part of school – introducing our children to outdoor learning including hiking, canoeing, climbing, camping, navigation, bush skills, resilience and leadership. Both boys can’t get enough of it – our younger son has just returned from 10 days navigating via Dartmoor over half term.

“The House system at King’s Ely has given them a fantastic structure in which to mature and develop, with great role models in the older students, tutors and house master, and opportunities to take on responsibilities and organise events and be a part of a bigger ‘family’. All of these strands have come together to build our children into confident, happy, rounded people who we are very proud of.

“Meanwhile our younger daughter can’t wait to get to King’s Ely – the cookies at parents’ evenings are legendary!”
