“OUR daughters, Annabelle and Zara, started at King’s Ely six years ago – Annabelle in Year 3 at King’s Ely Junior and Zara in Year 1 at King’s Ely Acremont.

“Our first impression of King’s Ely was that of a vibrant, warm and very happy environment and we have not been disappointed. Both girls have loved their time in the Junior school, playing lots of Sport and representing the school in Hockey, Netball, Cricket and Athletics whilst also enjoying the Music opportunities on offer, with Annabelle learning the clarinet and being part of the orchestra as well as a member of King’s Voices, and Zara playing the piano and now the violin and being part of the band.

“The school musical productions are produced to an extraordinarily high standard and both have loved taking part in them – Zara as a dancer in CATS and the forthcoming Fame production, and Annabelle as a stage technician in Seussical and doing the make-up for Jesus Christ Superstar.

“Having looked around all of the Cambridge Senior schools, our experiences at King’s Ely Junior were a major influence in our final decision to keep them at King’s Ely for the Senior school. The pastoral care that the girls have received over the years, together with the encouragement to explore as many opportunities as possible to help them to develop into their own individual person, far outweighed the need to achieve the highest possible academic results, in our eyes.

“Annabelle is now in her second term in the Senior school and our expectations have so far been exceeded. Not only does she still have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including the outdoor pursuit training provided by the Ely Scheme, she is also being actively and successfully encouraged to achieve academically.

“We are in no doubt that both girls will leave King’s Ely as happy, independent, polite and respectful young adults having achieved their best academically, and with the confidence and belief to achieve in whatever future path they choose to follow.”
