What GCSE results did you achieve?
Two Grade 9’s, four Grade 8’s and five Grade 7’s.
Which year group did you join King’s Ely?
Reception at King’s Ely Acremont.
What extra-curricular activities do you enjoy most here?
Sport, mainly Rugby, in which I’ve competed for the school since Year 5. I also love Swimming, and I have represented the King’s Ely in one gala against The Leys.
How do you feel King’s Ely and your teachers have helped you to get good grades?
I felt well prepared by my teachers when going into the exams thanks to plenty of practice questions beforehand. But it was the support sessions run after school, in break times and during the exams themselves that really helped. The Level 8 in my GCSE Chemistry was not on the cards and I’m sure it was the support sessions that helped pull that grade up. The same with Latin where I achieved a 5 in my mock and managed to get my grade up to a 7 with the help of after school support sessions.
What A Levels are you studying and what are your future career ambitions?
Maths, Psychology, Biology and German.
The dream is to be a professional Rugby player (for Scotland) but failing that I would still pursue a sport-related career and potentially go on to study Sports Science at University.
Why King’s Ely Sixth Form? What are the main reasons you want to stay?
I feel that the extra-curricular activities persuaded me to stay at King’s Ely with vast opportunities to excel outside of the classroom. Also, I like the fact that teachers at King’s Ely are readily accessible for help with homework or if I haven’t quite understood what was covered in a lesson – this offers a reassuring sense of support with my studies.
