FOUR members of King’s Ely’s Senior Bouldering Squad competed in the British Mountaineering Council’s Youth Series Round One Competition at the Big Rock Hub in Milton Keynes on January 12th.
Each competitor had to complete 10 problems with a maximum number of attempts, in front of an independent judge. Despite an incredibly tough set of problems and intense competition pressure, the King’s Ely team performed very well and maintained a positive mind-set and high spirits throughout.
In the Youth B Category, James Schoenberg came 9th. In the Youth A Category, Jamie Layfield and Mikey Turner came joint 11th, and Rhys Phillips was placed 13th.
The Bouldering Squad is competing at Blokfest in London this weekend coming – good luck all!
