WE couldn’t have asked for better weather for our ‘Bikeability Week’ at King’s Ely Junior last week!

The team from Outspoken Training were in school running ‘Bikeability’ sessions with our Year 5 pupils.

The organisation visits schools across East Anglia delivering Bikeability lessons, which are designed to equip children with the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to make more journeys by bicycle.

Year 5 Teacher, Joanna Whymark, said: “Taking to the roads of Ely after their initial assessment on the school’s astro, hand signals were employed when negotiating roundabouts, steering and nerves were tested as parked vehicles were manoeuvred around, and thankfully all returned safely with a shared experience of safer cycling.

“Thank you to all the staff involved and to the pupils who rose expertly to the challenges set by the Bikeability team.”
