“Although this has been a mixed week in terms of the weather, the majority of our activities have gone ahead as planned, and allowed for the children to further embrace the range of opportunities on offer this term. Thank you to the team and to many of you who attended the Meet the Tutor event for Years 7 and 8 parents and carers yesterday evening, and the Year 7 coffee morning today. Tutors have made contact with parents and established their connection over the last three weeks and so, please may I encourage you to exploit this relationship as best you can in support of your children. Tutors are well-placed to liaise internally on your behalf at school and can coordinate any support you may require.

“Since last weekend’s auditions, the cast of Mary Poppins Junior has come together and there is already an excited buzz around the rehearsals taking place. Our new Choir, Ely Sings!, has been launched by Mr Parsons and we are excitedly anticipating the music-making ahead for all involved. Tomorrow morning will see a large Open Event for prospective pupils taking place and we are very grateful to the many Year 8 pupils who have volunteered to act as guides. As you may recall, the recruitment season runs from now through to January 2024 for next September’s entrants. If you have any contacts who are considering King’s Ely Prep for next year, please put them in touch very soon so that their children may be included in our forthcoming events and assessments.

“Looking forward to next week, our Cathedral Harvest Festival will be taking place on Thursday morning. Please help us to build a wonderful collection of produce for the Foodbank by sending any donations of the non-perishable items requested to school by Wednesday 27th September. We look forward to a lovely event which we will share with King’s Ely Acremont and Fairstead House again this year.

“With our best wishes for a lovely weekend.”
