“HAPPY Half Term! Today’s celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee were a wonderful way to conclude this part of term – together with King’s Ely Acremont on School Field, surrounded by bunting, flags, music and a special tea. We hope that the children will remember today forever as a special moment in history. However, just in case their memories fade or if they were on a trip or unwell today, all the children have a bespoke Platinum Jubilee Mug from King’s Ely to bring home soon. Special events such as today’s, celebrated with about 500 other children, create memories and contribute to our bonding as a community. Whatever the Jubilee Week ahead holds in store for your families, we hope that all of your celebrations will be joyful and run smoothly.

“We are delighted to have welcomed Year 5 back from their residential trip to Ironbridge today and look forward to Year 6 heading off for their adventures on (and in) Grafham Water during the week we return to school. It has been very important to us to see the children resume their residentials this term. These expeditions are an important part of the broad education we aim to offer and we are so pleased to have been able to go ahead with them for Years 5, 6 and 8 this term. Looking ahead, we envisage launching another ski trip, more local trips and other exciting residentials for the children over the coming months. Do keep an eye out for the KingsPosts which will share details in due course.

“In the meantime, we send our best wishes for a special Jubilee half term and thank you again for all your support for our work with the children at school.”
