“PHEW, what a scorcher! Our return from the half term break with warmth and sunshine beckoning us outside has been a very welcome start to this, the final part of the school year.

“Hopefully the weather will hold fair for next week’s performances of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on The Paddock, which we are so looking forward to.

“Our inclusion themes for June include Pride and Windrush Day, which are both featuring in displays at school this month and appropriately, in Cathedral, we heard about being courageous advocates for others this week.

“To end the week, today we welcomed some inspirational guests to enliven our STEM subjects with a Year 8 special Science Day which has been a great success. Thank you to the parents and contacts who volunteered to get involved in today’s event and also to those who have indicated that they may be able to offer the children some inspiration in their Computing and Technology studies via Mr Everest over coming weeks.

“We welcome any other suggestions you may be able to make based on your expertise and business interests, and look forward to more enriching careers-linked events to come.

“With our best wishes for the weekend ahead.”
