“OUR Year 11 and 13 students should be congratulated for successfully negotiating the last six months in pursuit of their GCSEs and A Levels. They have had to contend with moving goalposts and shifting sands to meet the demands of the exam boards. We have been so impressed with their fortitude and patience; they have certainly earned a very well-deserved break.
“I would also like to acknowledge the Herculean efforts of the teaching body in preparing pupils, setting assessments, marking and then moderating the papers, as they seek to award grades that are fair. Thank you to Mrs Jane Thomas for her leadership of this process, and to the Heads of Departments and the exam team for all they have contributed.
“Thank you also to all those who work in boarding. This half term will be the first time the boarding houses have all been closed since 19th August 2020. I hope everyone is able to have a very enjoyable half term break.
