“I occasionally refer to King’s Ely as a ‘school with a soul’. This ‘soul’ is starting to re-emerge as the school springs back to life. The removal of masks and a return to more normal dining arrangements have been a joy. You can see pupils smiling once more.

“The cast of ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’ reunited this week as they prepare for a revised version of their show in July, competitive sport against neighbouring schools returned, and musicians are rehearsing in earnest for performances. Year 11s and Year 13s are nearing the completion of their assessments and there continues to be an air of optimism.
