“AT our Senior Vocal Festival Finalists’ Concert, held on Thursday evening in the magnificent setting of the Cathedral’s South Transept, the adjudicator, Manvinder Rattan, spoke of how “music touches the soul”. This was certainly true of the many outstanding performances throughout the evening.

“Manvinder commented afterwards that the standard was so high that he would happily employ many of the singers as professional musicians. Given his background and experience, this is high praise indeed. He particularly made a point, both publicly and in conversation afterwards, of singling out the high standard of vocal tuition, which he regarded as exceptional in a school setting.

“Elsewhere, I was equally proud of our four Year 11 girls who made the finals of the Lawn Tennis Association Schools Autumn League, competing in London on Thursday, and our Fashion and Textile Design students who exhibited at the Business Design Centre, also in London, last weekend.”
