“OUR four-day week has predictably raced along and we find ourselves meeting the arrival of autumn head-on with cooler weather and shortening days. For Acremont, that signals a time of seasonal art, preparation for our Harvest Festival, setting up, for another year, our School Council, voting for our chosen charity, and introducing our new House Captains to their important roles in school.

“Thank you to parents who participated in our Settling-In Parent Consultations on Tuesday. This is an opportunity for a valuable, early conversation about how your child is responding to the new academic year and I am pleased that it was a time to celebrate early successes as your children have settled so well into their new year groups.

“I look forward to welcoming Reception parents and carers to the first in our series of ‘At Home’ coffee mornings from 10am on Friday, 30th September. As we successfully began last year, we will continue with a ‘hybrid’ format, where you may participate either online or in person and we will send a link over to you towards the end of next week.

“Finally, I wish all those children who choose to write a manifesto and offer themselves for election to our School Council, good luck, and my thanks for wanting to join in; for having the courage to ‘step up’, and for their energy and desire to represent their class in order to make things happen. I look forward to watching our democratic process in action!

“With my best wishes for a happy and restful weekend.”
