“WELCOMING children into school each day at ‘car gate’ is one of the highlights of the job. We all enjoy offering a warm welcome: it’s part of our home from home identity. I am continually heartened at the happy way the children dart into the house and begin their day.

“On Monday, we were awash with odd socks in support of Anti-Bullying Week and yesterday, the arrival to school was extra jolly and creative with spotty bow ties, tights and Pudsey ears! Well done children! Your eagerness to be involved and your generosity to donate to Children in Need was super.

“With so much to look forward to in school at this time of year, I would very much like to thank Nursery 2 parents for taking part in our Transition Evening on Thursday. It was super to discuss this important time in the life of your children, as well as tour around the bright and energetic displays and activities in the Reception classrooms. Transition is also relevant to Year 2 families over the next few weeks. Mr Whymark and staff from King’s Ely Junior are looking forward to meeting Year 2 parents at their Information Evening on Wednesday 1st December, which will be held in the Acremont Hall at 18:30 (please note the amended start time for this meeting). This meeting is then hotly followed by the Year 2 pupils’ Activity Morning at the Junior School on Saturday 4th December.

“The children have been busy this week as they begin to learn lines and the lyrics to festive songs in preparation for our Christmas Service. From Nursery 1 to Year 2, we very much look forward to performing under the Octagon in a few weeks’ time.

“With my best wishes for a peaceful weekend.”
