“I wish you all a very warm welcome to King’s Ely Acremont and the start of our new academic year. I hope that our new families are starting to feel settled as new routines become established and familiar, and to returning families, it has been super for Mrs Nabavian and I to greet you and your children again each morning. This first week has flown by and has been as sunny as the weather we have enjoyed! After much planning and preparation, the joy of the house being full of children’s laughter, jokes and anecdotes has created a light and busy buzz around the place. Just as we like it!

“Returning to Acremont with many of the routines and protocols that were put in place in the Summer Term, the children have settled in with remarkable ease, proving themselves to be resilient and capable. The nurturing warmth of the staff and their careful academic planning has captured the attention, trust and excitement of the children. Each class, whether in Nursery or the house, are already off on their learning journeys, delving into this term’s topic as well as following the interests of the children, as they share their experiences.

“I would like to thank our parents and guardians for the enormous task of preparing for the start of school, particularly in an environment of increased ‘admin’ generated by Covid and the resulting Government guidance. Never before has there been such form filling, information gathering and deadline pressure. Your support in these changing times has contributed to the calm and ordered start of term and thank you again.

“I have seen and heard numerous small acts of kindness this week, particularly from our experienced Elyeans, as they welcome and befriend new joiners. At Acremont, it is in our prayers, we discuss it at carpet-time and it is what we receive a cup for, and so it is most heartening at the start of what I anticipate will be is a great year, that our children have begun the term in such a positive and kindly manner.”
