“AS I write this, we have crates and crates of food produce stacked up in our reception area, all ready to go to Ely Foodbank. As the food mountain has been growing, it has served as a reminder of the power of generosity, as well as the basic human requirements for survival which will be met through the donations. The produce is going to local people. That message has been particularly moving for pupils. Thank you to everyone for all of the contributions that have come in.

“We came together with King’s Ely Acremont on Thursday and, for the first time, Fairstead House School, for our Harvest Festival in the Cathedral. Hearing King’s and Fairstead singing together was a particular pleasure. There were a huge number of parents in attendance too, meaning that together there were over 700 of us focusing on the needs of others. The memory of the service will certainly sustain me over the next few weeks.

“I wish you all a very pleasant weekend.”
