SELF-confessed Doctor Who fanatic, Felix Hawes, says he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw his A Level results!

Felix, who started his King’s Ely journey all the way back in 2005 when he joined King’s Ely Acremont in Reception, achieved 3 A* grades in Government and Politics, History and Religious Studies.

Felix is off to the University of Nottingham to study Politics, so watch out Mr Johnson!

Felix, who was Head Boy last year, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw that I had three A*s – I kept refreshing my computer screen and thought there must have been a mistake! I never expected to do so well but I’m obviously thrilled that I did.

“I’m excited for university but I am so sad to be leaving King’s Ely. The support I have been given over the years has been second to none, particularly during my A Levels, and my grades are massively down to the guidance and support of my teachers and the Sixth Form staff team.”

Felix, whose dad Marc is a teacher at King’s Ely and former student himself, said: “The opportunities provided at King’s Ely are quite unbelievable and the school is so community spirited. I’ve been involved with all sorts of things here over the years, including swimming, playing the violin, debating and not forgetting the legendary History Cafe!

“Being Head of School was a very special experience and my confidence has grown hugely to the point that, despite being very sad to have finished school, I do feel ready for university and the next stage.”

Congratulations Felix and best of luck for Nottingham!
