In their Science lessons, our Year 7 King’s Ely Prep pupils are exploring the microscopic nature of life.

So far, students have mastered the skills of using a microscope, looked at prepared microscope slides, and even made their own in order to view onion skin cells.

Mr Oliver, who is Head of Science at King’s Ely Prep, said: “Creating models is very much an active learning aid in Science, and our model cells help us reconstruct what each pupil has viewed, although 1,000 times larger than the real item. Now, that is magnification for you!”

At King’s Ely Prep, we encourage pupils to ask questions about the world around them, and create an environment which provides the answers through research and practical experimentation, both inside and outside the laboratory.
