‘AMAZING Animals around the World’ is this term’s new topic for Year 2 King’s Ely Acremont pupils.

The children went outside into the school garden to search for hidden animal patterns, and then decided which animal each pattern belonged to. They then had to group the patterns, which led to some interesting discussions about skin, hair and scales.

Pupils eventually sorted the patterns according to their group – ie: mammal, reptile, amphibian etc. Following on from this, they used their oil pastels to produce some beautiful animal patterns.
