OUR Year 13 English Literature students visited Shakespeare’s Globe in London on February 8th to watch ‘Hamlet’.

Dr Daniel Gabelman, Head of English at King’s Ely Senior, said: “It was an edgy performance that accentuated the humour of the play and represented Hamlet’s madness through the shift from candlelight to bright LEDs, and from classical sets and costumes to graffitied walls and modern dress.

“The students came away buzzing, with several saying that it was the best performance of Hamlet they had seen to date. According to Madison, it was ‘even better than Benedict Cumberbatch!'”
