WE were delighted to welcome members of the Women’s 35 England Touch Rugby Squad to our Amherst Field for a training session on July 9th.

Why King’s? Well, Sue-Ellen Godde, Teacher of Physics and Housemistress of Withburga House, is a member of the squad and they are busy training for the European Touch Rugby Championships, being held in Nottingham in August.

The team won Bronze at the last World Cup in Malaysia in 2019, and they are hoping for Gold at the Europeans!

Sue-Ellen has represented England since 2010. She played mixed open in 2010 and 2011, and then played England Senior Mixed from 2015-2018. In 2019, she played for England Women’s 27 and she has been with England Women’s 35 since 2020.

Sue-Ellen plays ‘link’ most of the time. She plays for Cambridge Touch Rugby when competing in the National Touch Series, and Midlands Tigers is her regional team.

Best of luck for the European Champs, ladies!
