WE are proud to support the Queen’s Green Canopy campaign!

Three new English Oaks – sourced from Barcham Trees – have been planted on The Paddock at King’s Ely Junior.

Our Chair of Governors, David Day, and Vice Chair of Governors, Amanda East, joined forces with pupils, our Gardens Team, Alison Inskip, who leads our Eco-Committee, and Richard Whymark, Head of King’s Ely Junior, to plant the trees.

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a tree planting initiative launched to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. It invites people from across the UK to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

As well as the planting of new trees, the campaign will dedicate a network of 70 ‘Ancient Woodlands’ across the UK and identify 70 ‘Ancient Trees’ to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
