CAMBRIDGE proved to be a great place for King’s Ely Senior students to collect new resource materials for their Textiles projects.

Year 10 Textiles students went to the Cambridge University Museum of Zoology, The Fitzwilliam Museum and Cambridge University Botanic Garden during their trip on September 12th.

Director of Art at King’s Ely, Alison Rhodes, said: “The students focused on colour, shape, form and methods of application and connected this research with the work of other artists and designers. There was also the opportunity to work with the textile designer, Sarah Blake, where students produced a series of textile sample ideas.

“This proved to be an invaluable opportunity to explore and develop analytical skills through the use of sketchbook ideas. It was a wonderful experience to work as a group alongside a professional designer.”
