A GROUP of our Year 12 Textile Design students visited Norwich University of the Arts on November 24th.

Our young designers enjoyed a ‘Material E-objects’ workshop, where in response to a personal object or photograph, they combined e-textiles with embroidery to create surfaces with LED lights to highlight the composition.

Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King’s Ely Senior, said: “This was an invaluable opportunity for our students to work with two of the University’s Lecturers, Dr Lucy Robertson and Jenny Ross-Nevin, who congratulated them on their professional approach throughout the workshops.

“The activities were complemented by lectures from degree course students, which covered everything from University life to career options, and a tour of the Fashion and Textiles studio space available. It was certainly a very creative and informative day.”
