TRAIL running, ridge walking and rock pool swimming were just some of the activities enjoyed by King’s Ely Senior students during the Ely Scheme summer holiday Lake District Expedition.

To say the trip was action-packed would be a slight understatement – with pupils also enjoying multi pitch climbing, bouldering, scrambling and lots more.

From the high peaks of the Andes and Himalayas to the gushing torrents of the rivers in the Alps, the Ely Scheme at King’s Ely offers boundless opportunities for pupils to explore and learn through outdoor education.

Outdoor education at King’s Ely offers students the chance to learn self-reliance, teamwork, creative thinking and a determined attitude to all tasks in life. Our unique programme is facilitated by specially selected and trained pupil instructors who deliver our activities and learn to become exceptional leaders.
