STAFF from Johnson and Scott Vets in Witchford and Littleport took time out of their busy schedules to visit pupils at King’s Ely Acremont.

The visit on April 30th was organised as Reception pupils are learning all about different animals this term.

Vet, Joanne Johnson, talked about some of the different animals and pets that people own, and she demonstrated how to check animals’ ears, mouth and coat. Pupils were also shown different animal X-rays and impressed their visitors by correctly identifying the skeletons. The children also tried their hand at bandaging a toy animal, making sure that the bandage wasn’t too tight of course.

As a finale, Joanne brought along one of her own pets into the classroom – a corn snake! The children were able to touch and hold the snake if they wanted – the majority of whom were excited to do so.
