KIND-hearted King’s Ely Junior pupil, Raffi, is raising funds for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation charity.

It all started during the summer when Raffi and her family were sailing along the south coast between Fowey and Falmouth. A pod of Common Dolphins joined them and swam alongside the boat! Raffi was mesmerised by them as they darted around and played in the water.

Raffi and her family talked about what amazing creatures dolphins are and how they need protecting. Raffi decided she wanted to raise some money to help protect dolphins and she decided on the Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) charity.

With limited provisions, Raffi settled on making some origami flowers and bows that she then sold in the marina office to passers-by. She made a sign explaining why she wanted to raise money for the WDC and drew a picture of a dolphin and mermaid.

So far, Raffi has raised more than £50 and she was delighted to receive a thank you card, certificate and magazine from the charity, thanking her for her fundraising efforts.

Well done Raffi!
