OUR Sport Department was thrilled to welcome pupils and staff from Montessori School in Buenos Aires to King’s Ely on April 28th.
Our Argentinian friends, who are currently on a cultural tour of England, enjoyed a hockey training session with Miss Bond and Mrs Daniel, before their football team played a 7-a-side game against a ‘King’s Gentlemen’s VII’, which was a very good-humoured affair.
Following a delicious lunch in the Monastic Barn, our visitors enjoyed a tour of Ely Cathedral before heading to Cambridge for an afternoon of punting. They were then due to head west to Bath.
Henning Kaaber, Director of Sport at King’s Ely, said: “It has been too long since we have hosted a touring side. It was a hugely enjoyable experience for all involved and something that we hope will be the start of a mutually productive partnership. We look forward to the return leg!”
