OUR Assistant Community Welfare Advisor, Michelle Chalmers, and her daughter, Payton, well and truly smashed their February running challenge for Pancreatic Cancer UK!

The duo initially set out to run at least one mile every day throughout February to raise as much money as they could for the charity.

However, Michelle ended up completing 165 kilometres and Payton clocked up 100 kilometres! Their challenge has raised almost £1,100 for the charity.

Michelle said: “When we decided to take on the challenge, we initially intended to run a minimum of one mile each day. As the weeks went on and the miles went up, we decided to do our own thing and aimed for 100 kilometres over the 28 days!

“With blisters on our feet, sore hips and a few ribs out of place, we started to think about all those people and families who have been torn apart through this awful disease. I managed to do 165 kilometres in the 28 days and Payton ran just over 100 kilometres.

“We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated towards this cause, which is really close to our hearts.”

What a fantastic distance and amount raised ladies!
