Marley the Donkey was the star of the show at King’s Ely Acremont Nursery and Pre-Prep’s Palm Procession.

The outdoor procession took place on March 28th, and it is organised each year by our School Chaplain, Revd Dr Ros Lane. Heavy rain resulted in the children and staff having to pull on their wellie boots and zip up their raincoats, but their faces soon lit up when they saw Marley in the playground.

Marley, who lives at South Angle Farm Park in nearby Soham, led everyone around the garden as they sang ‘Hosanna to the King’ and held up their palm crosses, which were blessed by Dr Lane. This year, the palm crosses were made by Linda Hill, who retired from being Head of Religious Studies at King’s Ely Junior in 2021. Thank you so much Linda!
