SIX of our Senior musicians came together to deliver a wonderful Lunchtime Recital at Ely Cathedral on June 9th.

Accompanied by fabulous pianist, Ryoko Yasujima, who is one of our Visiting Music Teachers, students who performed were Lauren Peck (saxophone), Mimi Hughes (soprano), Alex Avogadri (piano), Ben Kittoe (guitar), Emma Williams (flute) and Alexandra Bowerman (soprano).

Helen Briggs, Head of Academic Music at King’s Ely Senior, said: “All of the students performed to a very high standard and it was excellent to see them all rising to the occasion. Repertoire ranged from Jazz piano and Bossa Nova guitar to opera and musical theatre.

“It appears they are now celebrities of Ely as when one performer visited Café Nero, they were greeted with applause from members of the audience who were also enjoying a post-concert coffee!”

Well done musicians and thank you to everyone who came along to support them!
