A GROUP of our International Language Leaders from King’s Ely Senior popped over to King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep on November 17th.

The students, who are from Hong Kong, Thailand, Russia and China, worked with children in Year 1 and Year 2 – teaching them fascinating facts about their home countries and some key phrases in their languages, such as ‘Hello’ and ‘How are you?’

Melanie Franklin, our Head of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), said: “It was incredibly daunting for our Language Leaders, but they did extremely well. The children at Acremont all responded so positively and enthusiastically, and they were impressive in their command of the different languages. Well done to everyone involved!”

The Language Leader qualification is endorsed by Anglia Ruskin University and it involves students learning how to teach and give three lessons to a variety of ages. Students attend the club every week for two months.
