NINE students represented King’s Ely at the British Schools & Young Shots Championships in Bedfordshire on April 21st.

The King’s Ely Senior students – Yuri Bettoni, Sabina Chan, Boris Choi (Captain of Shooting), Annabelle Hamilton-Bing, Julian Berridge, James Hazlewood, Rowan Wheelwright, Henry Zheng and Eugenia Tsang – competed in two teams, with everyone shooting 50 birds (clays) launched in pairs across seven stands.

A spokesman for the school’s clay pigeon shooting team said: “The two teams were up against very serious competition, yet they each put in a good performance. There were some fine individual shots and our students did the school proud. Although the teams did not win any prizes, our students gained really useful experience, testing both their skills and stamina, and setting a benchmark for next year. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable and productive day, and look forward to returning to Riseley next year, as well as entering other competitions.”
