Congratulations to King's Ely Sixth Form student, Selina, for her superb achievement in this year's Mathematical Competition for Girls!

Selina, who is in Year 12, attained a Merit in the contest, which is organised by the UK Mathematics Trust.

The competition was launched last year as a new and exciting opportunity to inspire and challenge young female mathematicians across the UK.

Selina joined our International Programme in Year 11 from an independent school in Malta. She stayed at King's for Sixth Form and is studying Biology, Chemistry, and Further Maths for her A-Levels.

Ms Audrienne Bezzina, Head of Maths at King's Ely Senior, said: "The competition challenged students with some seriously tricky mathematical problems, requiring plenty of logic, creativity, and perseverance. Selina rose brilliantly to the challenge, demonstrating some excellent problem-solving skills. We are all incredibly proud of her achievement."
