The freezing temperatures and their impact on courts, astros and pitches resulted in lots of our sports fixtures being cancelled over the weekend, as have many matches so far this week, particularly for the boys.

Netball fixtures against The Perse School and Royal Hospital School did go ahead on Saturday (January 21st), as did our 1st XI Boys’ Hockey fixture against Wisbech Grammar School.

Most of the Rowing that we had planned with Bedford Modern School and St Mary’s School Cambridge, in Ely for Sunday (January 22nd) was affected by the cold snap, although our J14-J18 Rowers did manage to squeeze in some training on Saturday morning.

On Monday (January 23rd), there were Netball fixtures against St Mary’s School Cambridge. On Tuesday (January 24th), there was Netball against The Leys School, Cambridge and a Swimming competition at Oundle School (report/photos to come!).

Some matches were won, some were drawn, and some were lost. But in true King’s fashion, even when things did not quite go their way, our students’ resilience, team spirit, and love of the sport they are playing shone through.
