The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, ‘Whistle down the Wind’ was performed by King’s Ely students last week to packed houses.

Over forty five cast members and twenty members of crew have worked relentlessly over the past 9 weeks to deliver what was, technically and musically, the most ambitious and complex musical King’s Ely Drama Company have put on in recent years.

Andrew Lloyd Webber himself tweeted the school directly in the week preceding the production, wishing the young cast the very best of luck. And they certainly didn’t disappoint as audiences, including local business people and pupils from local schools, were wowed at the outstanding vocal and dramatic talent on display in this moving and uplifting musical.

The Head of King’s Ely Senior, Alex McGrath, commented, “A school production encapsulates all that is best in school. It was wonderful to see the ease of relationships between some of our youngest talent and our senior students. It made for a spectacular show which pulled together so many facets of King’s Ely. I was immensely proud of everyone involved.”
