THANK you to everyone who supported our Spring Concert on May 6th.

The concert, which is held annually in the Summer Term, celebrates the many ensembles here at King’s. This year, more than 80 students in Years 9-13 were involved.

Our Jazz Band kicked off the evening, followed by Flute Choir, Saxophone Ensemble, Nightingales and Brass Ensemble. The Flying Fiddles, our new folk group, gave their debut performance to end the first half. The second half saw the turn of King’s Ely Senior String Orchestra, Spikes, The King’s Barbers and the evening finished with a rousing performance from our Concert Band.

Helen Briggs, King’s Ely Senior’s Head of Academic Music, said: “The standard of all the performances was extremely high and it was wonderful to see Years 9-13 playing alongside one another. As this is our last large-scale concert of the year, it is a fitting time to say thank you to all the pupils involved in music here at King’s, and for the time and energy that they give in ensuring that performances are of a high standard. In addition, we are fortunate to have an excellent team of visiting music teachers who lead our ensembles, so thank you to them for all that they do.”
