KING’S Ely Junior pupils donned period costumes and enjoyed an action-packed Tudor Banquet Day.

The event on June 18th saw Year 4 students making clay pots, scent bags, potions to heal the sick, leather bookmarks and candles. Some embroidered handkerchiefs whilst others made ink and wrote with quills.

After working hard all morning, they were treated to a Tudor Banquet and were entertained by groups performing plays and dances, followed by tumblers and jesters making everybody laugh.

What a fantastic hands-on experience using all their senses to imagine how the Tudors would have prepared for a banquet!
