KING’S Ely Junior celebrated National Poetry Day in style on October 3rd thanks to a visit from hip hop artist, poet and award-winning author, Karl Nova.

Karl, who is the winner of CLiPPA 2018 for Rhythm and Poetry, hosted energetic poetry and lyrics workshops with pupils in all year groups and signed copies of his collection, Rhythm and Poetry.

Born and raised in London as well as Lagos, Karl is a social commentator, creative writing workshop facilitator, broadcaster and cultural critic who creates platforms for other artists as he seeks to uplift, inform and inspire through this artistic expression. Apart from being a wordsmith and energetic live performer, Karl is an avid beat-maker and he released a compilation of electronic music that he created on his phone called ‘Made ‘Em On My Phone’.

Thank you for coming in Karl – the students haven’t stopped talking about you!
