THE picturesque St Mary’s Church was the venue for the Year 11 King’s Ely International Prize Giving Ceremony last Thursday 23rd June.

Celebrating and recognising the hard work, commitment and achievements of the 35 overseas pupils who have studied for their one-year IGCSEs, the event was notable for the speeches given by five students talking publicly and passionately about their year at King’s Ely.

Matthew Norbury, Academic Director of the international programmes at King’s Ely, was immensely proud of the contribution to the wider King’s community that our overseas learners make; “Our international students show a maturity, insight and courage about what it takes to succeed in an ever-more globalised world. The respect they have shown for themselves, their parents and the school is inspiring.”

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Old Palace Sixth Form Centre.
