Kudos to everyone who supported our Hope4Malawi fundraising walk!
Thirty-four members of our school community walked 15-miles from Cambridge to Ely on Sunday, March 24th, including students, members of staff, parents/carers, and Old Eleans.
The scenic riverside walk was organised by Mrs Hayley Pienaar, who is one of our Teachers of English, in support of our campaign to raise £20,000 to build a new classroom at our link school in Malawi, through the Hope4Malawi charity.
The ramble raised almost £800, which takes our fundraising total so far to over £13,000!
In a country where only 15% of children complete secondary school, this new classroom will have a significant impact on the local community. By providing access to education, we want to help families rise out of poverty and break the cycle of hardship, where many people survive on only £1 a day.
