THE second round of Level 1 Climbing took place over the weekend (June 22nd and 23rd) in glorious sunshine!

The group – Mya Patel, Samantha Parsons, Vakaris Tamosaitis and Findlay Hall – enjoyed some stunning conditions as they learnt foundation climbing and rope work skills for the first time.

Saturday was spent at the classic training ground of Windgather Rocks, to the west of Buxton. The students got a taste of moving over real rock and got stuck into the art of hand jamming.

Sunday was spent at Burbage North, a notoriously tough climbing venue with equally notorious midges!

Well done to the climbers, who are all on their way to completing their foundation Level 1 Rock Climbing Skills as part of our outdoor education programme, Ely Scheme.
