Bravo to our King's Ely Acremont Pre-Prep pupils for their magnificent Nativity Service!
Parents and loved ones, staff, and friends of the school came together inside Ely Cathedral to cheer on our stellar Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 children as they took to the stage beneath the Octagon.
Courage, pride, and that sense of community for which King's is renowned were palpable as our young Eleans performed 'The Lesson of Christmas' in words, song, and dance.
This year's nativity service told the story of a very un-festive head teacher who was trying to dampen the Christmas spirits of his new school. With kindness, joy, and resilience, Mr Scrooge learned the errors of his ways, and Miss Eager and Mr Crumble gave their schoolchildren the Christmas that they all richly deserved!
Mrs Faye Fenton-Stone, Head of King's Ely Acremont Pre-Prep, said: "‘The Lesson of Christmas’ was performed superbly by our children, and we are very proud of them all. Whilst it is undoubtedly a real privilege to perform under the Octagon in the Cathedral, it is also a very big deal, and singing, remembering lines, and acting in front of so many requires a hefty amount of confidence, trust, and self-belief. Very well done indeed, children!
"Our Acremont life is made up of many dedicated, energetic, and incredibly kind individuals, and so I would like to extend my thanks to our parents for their wonderful support, staff for their wise understanding and enthusiasm, to the wider team at King’s, and lastly to the children who bring the spirit of Acremont to life. Merry Christmas to all, and I hope that you are able to enjoy a restful and jolly holiday before we meet again in 2026."
From glistening crowns to fake facial hair, thank you to our Pre-Prep families for their awesome efforts in helping to bring their child's character to life. Kudos to Sixth Form student, Thomas Strudwick, for his impressive organ playing throughout the service, and thank you also to our Catering Team for the fabulous festive refreshments served in the Lady Chapel afterwards.
