King's Ely students are celebrating a fantastic set of A-Level and Level 3 Qualification results in a diverse range of subjects, with around one fifth of all grades being the top A*.

This year, 19% of A-Level grades at King’s Ely Sixth Form are A*. 44% of grades are A*-A, 77% are A*-B, and 91% are A*-C. The overall pass rate is 99%.

Sixteen students achieved all A* and A grades; six of whom each attained at least three A* grades. Two pupils achieved four A* grades.

As a result of their all-round, enriched education, this year’s cohort are going on to study a vast and fascinating array of degrees and courses at universities and institutions across the globe. From Molecular Bioengineering and Musical Theatre to Finance and Fashion Marketing, King’s Ely’s strong reputation for nurturing students’ individual interests, talents, and passions is evident today more than ever.

Popular universities and institutions this year include Durham, Exeter, Manchester, Loughborough, University College London, York, and Edinburgh. Overseas destinations include University of Hong Kong, University of Florida, and Monash University, Australia, to name just some. 

Oliver is off to the University of Southampton to study Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics, having achieved three A* grades. Oliver, who joined King’s Ely Senior in Year 9, said: “I am so pleased with my results! I feel like I worked hard and that the hard work has paid off. Southampton is the best university for my course. I am excited for university but also sad to be leaving King’s. There is so much variety, so much support from teachers, and a really strong sense of community here.”

Eve also achieved three A* grades and has a place to study Medieval History and the History of Art at the University of St Andrews. Eve joined King’s Ely Prep in Year 7 and was appointed Co-Head of School in Year 13. Eve said: “I feel overwhelmed with joy with my results. My main love of King’s is that it really encourages you to make the most of every opportunity that comes your way.”

Will, who joined King’s Ely Nursery as a two-year-old in 2011, achieved all A*-A grades, and is going to study Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts. He said: “I am both very happy and very relieved about my results. Creativity is paramount at King’s, and I am going to really miss the inspiring and nurturing environment of the school that I have called home for so many years.”

Harriet will be studying Politics and Sociology at the University of Exeter after achieving all A-B grades. Harriet, who joined King’s Ely Senior in Year 9, said: “It is hard to describe how I feel about my results – overall I am so happy and so relieved. King’s is an incredible place. My teachers have all been so good and supportive.”

Of the subjects, 100% of History, Music, Drama, Textiles, French, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese grades were A*-B this year. A further nine subjects: Classical Civilisation, English Literature, Film Studies, Fine Art, Further Maths, Photography, Physical Education, Politics, and Product Design were 100% A*-C grades. 

Chemistry, Maths, and Physics were particularly strong too.

Every student who took the Level 3 BTEC Sport qualification achieved a Distinction. Every pupil who took the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business achieved at least a Merit, with 90% achieving a Distinction, and a third of these being a Starred Distinction.

Thirty-five students also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) alongside their A-Level and Level 3 Qualifications, with 69% achieving an A*-A grade and 97% securing at least a B grade.

Whether they are progressing to university, apprenticeships, employment, or other exciting opportunities, our pupils should take great pride in all they have accomplished so far and look forward with confidence to the future. We are immensely proud of all that they have achieved and of the contribution they have made to the life of the school community. We wish them every success and happiness in the next stage of their journey and look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the years ahead.
